Your Role
As an SLP, you'll assess and treat students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. You'll collaborate with educators and families to develop customized goals and implement individualized therapy plans. Your work will help students access communication, build academic confidence, and improve participation across school environments.
Illinois Requirements
To work as an SLP in Illinois schools, you must:

Hold an Illinois SLP license through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Have or be eligible for a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathology endorsement

Complete a master's in SLP and required background clearances
